After becoming one of the first twenty physicians in the United States to perform this technique, Dr. Ronald Vittone has performed over 30,000 cataract operations, making him one of the most experienced ophthalmologists in the United States. Dr. Ronald Vittone is a respected national and international research consultant. He has conducted research for seven prominent American intraocular lens implant manufacturing companies, a Swedish company specializing in ocular drugs and a Canadian company manufacturing eye surgical instruments. Undergraduate Degree: University of Notre Dame Dr. Daniel Vittone continues the tradition of providing leading medical technology by becoming one of the first physicians in Western Pennsylvania to perform radial keratotomy (RK) for the treatment of nearsightedness. Dr. Daniel Vittone trained in Arizona with the nation's leading expert in radial keratotomy. He continued advanced training in keratorefractive surgery at the Royal Hawaiian Eye Center. Dr. Vittone continues to be on the leading edge of technology. He currently offers the latest refractive procedures to treat farsightedness, nearsightedness and astigmatism. He performs photorefractive keratotomy (PRK), LASIK, and Customvue LASIK on qualifying patients. Dr. Daniel Vittone specializes in the laser treatment of glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, as well as, the medical evaluation of retinal disease and macular degeneration. Dr. Daniel Vittone was also selected in 1996 to travel to Shanghai, China to be an instructor for other ophthalmologists. In addition to residency training in small incision cataract surgery, he has had additional experience in no-stitch lens implantation at the University of South Florida. |

Medical Degree: University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency: Beth Israel Medical Center, New York Ophthalmology Residency: University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Dr. Michael A. Vittone joined our practice in July 2006 after completing an ophthalmology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Eye and Ear Center. He has had intensive training in macular degeneration treatment and diabetic retinopathy therapies. Prior to attending his ophthalmology residency Dr. Michael Vittone practiced as a board certified internist in Ligonier.
